Registration FAQs


 

What are the typical playing times?

Please note the below game times are based on last year’s times for each division, and may be subject to change

The nights of the week are rough estimates as games are released from the Leagues and are not necessarily of the discretion of WSA

Dates may also be subject rescheduling due to rain or other conflicts

Typical season runs from mid May to late July

 

Division Game Days 
Blastball Mondays or Wednesdays at 5:45  -WSA will send an email asking about which night works best prior to assigning nights. Games will be in New Hamburg, Baden or New Dundee depending on your group 
T-Ball Saturdays at 9:00am or 10:30am
U7 Coach Pitch  Tuesdays and Thursdays @ 5:45 or 6:00pm most games are in Baden, New Hamburg or New Dundee. Some games may be played in Wellesley.  
U9 Boys - Mondays and Wednesdays 6:00pm most games are in Baden, New Hamburg or New Dundee. Some games may be played in Wellesley.  May travel to Plattsville or Drumbo area. Girls - Likely Monday or Wednesday Home diamond. Other nights will depend on league.
U11

Boys will have Local League - Monday and Wednesdays 7:20pm;

Boys: most games are in Baden, New Hamburg or New Dundee, Wellesley, Plattsville or Drumbo area. 

Girls could play any night of the week but will have to set a home night day - Play in Huron Perth League - Travel can be more extensive with teams being from Embro, St Marys, Exeter, Sebringville or other towns in Perth County. 

U13

Boys will have Local League - Tuesdays and Thursdays 7:00 or 7:20pm

Boys: most games are in Baden, New Hamburg or New Dundee, Wellesley, Plattsville or Drumbo area. 

Girls could play any night of the week but will have to set a home night day - Play in Huron Perth League - Travel can be more extensive with teams being from Embro, St Marys, Exeter, Sebringville or other towns in Perth County

U15

Days depend on league. most teams can play anytime Monday to Friday start at 6:30 or 7:00pm

Girls - Play in Huron Perth League - Travel can be more extensive with teams being from Embro, St Marys, Exeter, Sebringville or other towns in Perth County. May also include teams from Cambridge. 

Boys - Play in South Perth League or South Oxford League. Games can be anywhere in Perth County. Similar to girls or anywhere in Oxford County. May also include teams from Cambridge or Paris.  

U17, U19, U20 

Days depend on league. most teams can play anytime Monday to Friday start at 8:30 or 9:00pm

Girls - Play in Huron Perth League - Travel can be more extensive with teams being from Embro, St Marys, Exeter, Sebringville or other towns in Perth County. May also include teams from Cambridge.

What is included in my Registration Fees? 

House League - Coach Pitch thru U13

Dry Fit Jersey, Baseball cap, mid season tournament - hosted by WSA, League year end for U9 thru U13. 

House League - U15 thru U23

- Dry Fit Jersey, Baseball cap, year end league tournament - Any other tournaments will need to be covered in a separate team budget. 

Boys Rep

- Eliminations and Provincials for OASA. Year end league tournament. 

Please note, this does not include uniforms, these will be covered in the team budget and are required by all players

Girls Rep

- Eliminations and Grans Championships for PWSA.  League fees for Grand Valley Ladies league and year end league tournament.

- U9 and U11 fees include 2 tournaments.

- U13 thru U19 fees include 3 tournaments.

Please note, this does not include uniforms, these will be covered in the team budget and are required by all players

 

I would like to pay cash instead of registering online, how can I do that?

What does my player need to be ready to play?

BLASTBALL

Blastball is a fundamentals program aimed toward players age 3 and 4. Full softball games are not played. there are various skill based games designed to introduce the new player to running to first, hitting the ball, getting the ball and throwing the ball. 

hat and jersey will be provided (timbits) 
batting helmet (cage recommended and is required as they get older)
- running shoes (cleats not required)

T-BALL and COACH PITCH

T-ball is game type situations but teams are kept relatively small to help increase participation and number of touches and at bats. Early season will likely be a even split between practice and game, gradually working toward all games. This is typically at the coaches discretion but is recommended. 

Coach Pitch is all game situations, possibly some practice early in the season prior to game start. The coach pitches the ball to the players when batting.  

- hat and jersey will be provided
- batting helmet (cage recommended and is required as they get older)
- running shoes (cleats not required)
- ball glove

U9 thru U20
- hat and jersey will be provided - local league only - rep required to purchase rep jersey(s) 
- batting helmet (cage required)
- ball cleats
- pants not supplied but required, white for boys, black for girls. 
- ball glove

- Pitchers require pitching mask U9-U17 (2020) - WSA Will provide one per team. 

- Jock or Jill recommended

Please note, Rep teams will likely carry a separate budget and will likely have additional expenses above and beyond., talk to your coach about the team budget. 


What is Wilmot's catchment area?

Wilmot Softball Association is inclusive of all towns in Wilmot Township including New Dundee

When will my tax receipt be mailed?

Tax receipts are emailed out every year at the end of the season. If your email address changes during this time, please notify the Registrar.

What is WSA's Policy on Late Registrations?

Anyone registering after the registration deadline may be subject to a 20% late fee depending on team availability, if you are not sure if you are subject to this late fee please contact our registrar. 


What is WSA's Refund/Cancellation Policy?

Due to the uncertainty with the Covid19 pandemic, WSA is unable to guarantee a full 2021 ball season. Players will receive refunds at the end of the season if WSA is not able to accommodate regularly scheduled games/practices/tournaments that would normally be included in the registration fee as a result of Covid19 restrictions. Refunds will be reviewed at the end of the season by age group and will be subject to an administration fee to cover fixed expenses.

For players voluntarily requesting a refund after the registration fee has been paid, see our refund policy below:

House League
Cancellation prior to Second Friday in April - Coach pitch and up - Full refund**
Cancellation prior to Second Friday in May - T-ball - Full refund**
Cancellation between Second Friday in April and May 31st, Coach Pitch and up - 50% refund**
Cancellation between Second Friday in May and May 31st, T-Ball - 50% refund**
Cancellation after May 31st, All teams - no refund**


Rep Teams
Cancellation within 30 days following the registration deadline - 50% refund**
Cancellation after 31 days or more following the registration deadline - No Refund**
**Executive may review requests on an individual basis and depending on the circumstance may decide to grant a full refund. This is not a guarantee and is solely at the discretion of the Executive and cannot be contested after a decision is made.
